Who we are?

Northern Pride is a community based organisation entirely run by an enthusiastic group of volunteers elected at an Inaugural General Meeting in July 2007. They are working hard to bring you a Pride celebration that is accessible, enjoyable and informative for the whole community.

Our Aims

Northern Prides aims, as set out in the constitution, are: To create a safe environment, where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people can promote their culture and work, in the interests of their social welfare, towards removing the social exclusion experienced by many. To promote equality and diversity, advance education and eliminate discrimination in relation to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

That’s some task that we have set ourselves! The Northern Pride festival 2008 will hopefully be the first of many events that we organize and we hope that as many people as possible will contribute to make it a success.
